Beyond Ordinary

My Story
I am a journalism senior who will begin nursing school in the spring. I am dedicated to bridging the gap between healthcare and the communities it serves. With a background in storytelling and a passion for patient advocacy, I focus on making medical information clear, accessible, and empowering. My work explores the real experiences behind clinical care—especially the challenges patients face when navigating mental health, chronic illness, and health literacy barriers. This is where our journey begins. I'm so glad you're here to be a part of this story.

Join Me In My Journey
As I move through nursing school, I bring a reporter’s curiosity to the bedside, asking better questions, listening deeply, and translating complex topics into meaningful guidance. I am committed to improving patient education, reducing stigma around mental health, and elevating the voices of those often overlooked in healthcare conversations. Whether writing, interviewing, or learning hands‑on in clinical settings, I aim to create a more informed, compassionate, and connected healthcare experience for everyone.
Every day you or someone you know begins a new journey involving their healthcare. Autonomy starts with knowing your right and when and how to speak up. The time to make your health plan is long before you will ever need it.
“As a journalist, you learn to tell the story. As a nurse, you learn to help change the ending.”

We Are All In This Together
My sister’s treatment during a long-term stay in the hospital inspired me to go to school for my CNA (Nursing Assistant). After 4 years as a CNA I am now a union steward and department trainer. I am admitted to UNCG nursing school with a start date of January of 2027.
